The thinking behind our walking tours

Our aim is to promote heritage and contemporary culture in an informative and entertaining way. Using the latest podcasting digital technology we help people to get the most from their visit. Walkdigital sits alongside and complements the other agencies with whom we believe we share that common aim.

The original idea behind walkdigital is to bring together in portable form a clear and uncomplicated narrative, featuring high quality music relevant to the places featured; its people, its architects, artists, and others who have shaped the environment and given it expression over time.

In leading the project we have worked with web developers Enterprise AB Ltd and with Nimbus and Harmonia Mundi record labels to research and agree music rights For example we have featured Haydn’s Oxford Symphony which was played by Joseph Haydn at the Sheldonian Theatre. We also feature small samples of the award winning Christchurch Cathedral and Magdalen college choirs, alongside JS Bach and Vivaldi.
